Google Sitemap ping setup on google side

Hi,

I'm interested in knowing the best setup for pinging google, but on the google side.

I've manually submitted a sitemap to google and that works fine. WHen I ping a new sitemap to google using your generator, the sitemap "last uploaded" date doesn't change. I've read a previous past and understand why this is.

What I'm not sure about is, do I leave my sitemap uploaded on the google side or do I delete it. I'm worried that if I leave the manually submitted sitemap on google then the pinged sitemap from the generator will not be used.

Please advise if:

1. Should I delete the manually uploaded sitemap from google or whether I can just leave it on?

2. Will a manually uploaded sitemap be considered better by google than a pinged sitemap?

Hello,

you should leave your manually submitted entry on Google webmaster account and keep Google ping enabled in Sitemap Generator.
