Confused by what sitemaps to submit to Google & Yahoo

Hi we are relatively new to all this and we are confused as to what sitemaps we need to submit to Google & Yahoo. Also where is it best to place the other sitemaps we have generated. We have the following sitemaps ror, xml, txt & html.

you should submit xml sitemap to both Google and Yahoo.

Hello,

you can submite the same xml sitemap to Google, Yahoo and MSN. Text sitemap was used for Yahoo submission earlier, but now it supports XML too.
HTML sitemap is used to integrate with your website for "regular" visitors.

I submit my sitemap to MSN by going to live search submission and instead of submitting my homepage I submit my sitemap XML page (uncompressed of course).
But how do you create and submit a mobile sitemap?
Do I have to change my website design to have a mobile sitemap? And is the mobile sitemap the same for all search engines?
I know many people today use the internet on their mobile phones but do not know if I just create and upload a mobile sitemap for google and yahoo or if I need to create a whole new website design that can be seen on mobile devices.
I cannot cope with having to redesign the whole website again!!
