What are the proper paths?

Google wants the sitemap.xml in the root directory. I entered "
sitemap.xml
" in the "
Save sitemap to:
" and "
Your Sitemap URL:
" fields of the Configuration page and saved the changes.
After crawling the site, I go to view the the View Sitemaps page, and the maps are in the generator dir.
How can I get the script to write the file into the root dir? So the path is [external links are visible to admins only]
and
NOT
[external links are visible to admins only]
On the "View Sitemap page it says :
ROR SiteMap
ror.xml
1. XML SiteMap File
./sitemap.xml

Hello,
you should enter FULL path to your sitemap file:
