What type of sitemaps do live.com and yahoo.com like to see?
ROR, sitemap.xml, or html?

They use sitemap.xml, html sitemap is a general purpose sitemap that should help search engines to crawl your site better, but you should not manually submit it, just put a link to sitemap.html somewhere on your site.
