Priority values

Just wondering, how important are the priority values? I have about 1500 pages so I wouldn't really want to change them all by hand... Does it make sense to set the value of the most important pages on the site to 1?

Hi,
the priority field is described here:
https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/docs/en/protocol.html#prioritydef
In general, you can leave default vallue of 0.5 for all pages to give them the same priority. It's only reasonable to edit individual entries if you want to specify that some of them have lower priority comparing to others. And certainly it has no effect in comparison to other sites.
