Link limit?

I've read that in optimizing a site, you should not have more than 100 links going out on a sitemap page. Does this hold true for the XML site map pages Google is suggesting you use, or is there some way to break the resulting site map to multiple pages to get below the 100 page limit?

yes, the free Online Sitemap Generator includes the full html sitemap in one file for archiving purposes. On the other hand, our Standalone Sitemap Generator has a special option to specify the maximum number of links per page for html sitemap and splits it to multiple pages.
