Hi,

Just installed your product and it works great, so far, so good.

I have created the site map, checked the box which states ping google. I entered my login name and password for google at the config page for your sitemap main page. If this is correct how often will this ping google and how do I know when it does do this? I selected my sitemap to be re-created daily.

Next question:

Once, I crawled my site and compared it with what google has, how can I remove broken links from my newly created sitemap?

Regards

Hello,

sitemap generator will ping google every time new sitemap is created.
Please note though:
1. the login/password you specify at configuration page is NOT your google account loogin, but access details for sitemap generator itself.
2. the "Change frequency" option specifies a rough estimation on how often your pages are changed. To setup automatic sitemap re-generation you should create a system cron job at your server to execute sitemap generator at specified time (or just regularly manually generate sitemap).

Hi,

Ok, thanks I was able to get the cron job setup to generate my sitemap.xml.gz so that part is working beautifully.

Regards,
