Is it easy to generate a sitemap with a TXT extension that can be submitted to Yahoo?

I am presently running the 1.1.3 version.  It looks like a file sitemap.txt is already created in the data folder.  The only problem is that this file has the file date that I installed this software and the sitemap.xml.gz file in my root has todays date.  Why is the txt file not being updated?

Hi,

perhaps it has no write permissions? Please check that its mode is 0666.

No it was not 666.  I will change that.  Does the file sitemap.xml in the data folder also need to be set to 666?

Hi,

this is correct URL for Yahoo submission. Here is the quote from that page:

You can also provide the location of a text file containing a list of URLs, one URL per line, say urllist.txt. We also recognize compressed versions of the file, say urllist.gz.

is this something you need to do on an ongoing basis or will yahoo keep checking back or do you know if they will have a ping back service similar to google sitemap?

Hi Tone,

it might be a good idea to resubmit Yahoo sitemap once it gets significant changes.
I haven't heard about sitemap ping (notification) feature for Yahoo sitemaps service.
