What to do with Chinese urls?
« on: March 12, 2008, 10:00:14 PM »
Hi, there, I tried your free online sitemap generator first and thought this might be a good solution to me..and just purchased an unlimited version.

I will develop multilingual websites and the one i am working on is a Chinese CMS based online forum.

there are many urls containing chinese characters and can not be displayed properly in sitemap xml files, with some funny characters. However, if i copy and paste them into browser address windown, the webpages can be displayed properly.

Question: Is it ok to keep those links in my sitemap? Since Google also has Chinese version, will these links help?

Or is it posible to change coding to UTF-8 in the xml file to support display of Chinese characters?

thx a lot for all the efforts in developing this good script!

please take a look at my website,  Australian and New Zealand Trip, [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

Hello,

xml sitemap is always created in UTF8 encoding so that should not be a problem.
