How do I view error messages on crawling
« on: September 09, 2009, 11:32:11 AM »
I have installed Sitemap Generator on a number of my sites without any problems.

However, I created a new site and set permissions for /data, sitemap.xml and ror.xml as always.

When I click on Crawling / Run, an error message flashes up for a fraction of a second and then disappears. The Configuration page continues to say :

Quote
"Sitemap was not generated yet, please go to Crawling page to start crawler manually or to setup a cron job. "

How can I view the error message?

(This may be a configuration problem to sort out with my hosting company, but at least I need to see the error message to start to see where the problem lies).

Hello,

please try to define server IP address in sitemap generator configuration.

OK - that resolved it.

The Advanced settings were overlooked as they didn't exist in the version I had before.

Thanks  :)

The same thing is happening for me. I discovered if I hit Print quickly enough (Alt P on Mac; perhaps Pause Break or Print Screen on Windows?), the screen would pause and I could move the print window aside and take a screen capture of the error messages.
