Mac install problems
« on: September 08, 2010, 08:21:16 AM »
Hi there

I'm having difficulty getting sitemaps to run.

1 Where do I upload the files to?

I don't see any "public_html" folder on the server. When I connect via my client, I see three folders: "htdocs" (where I upload my php files), "logfiles" and "private"

Do I create a new folder here called "public_html"?

2 How do I change file attributes when I'm using a Mac?

3 I've created the two xml files using Dreamweaver and uploaded them into the same directory as the three folders I've just mentioned. Is this the right place?

Any help much appreciated

Hello,

1. domain root folder names can be different, in your case it's "htdocs".

2. with ftp software that you use to upload files, normally you can click on the file *after* uploading it, select "properties" (or similar) and permissions can be changed there.

3. "htdocs" is the right place on your server.
