I use the Google function : Ping Google when generation is done.

It is possible to obtain the date of the last request (last Ping)  ?

Hello,

the generator script performs google ping right after sitemap is created. So, the last time of ping is the same time when sitemap has been generated.

But, I have a problem.

"Resume last session" always gives me a information.

For example :
Continue the interrupted session (2006-09-01 12:34:48, URLs added: 396, estimated URLs left: 2041)

However, the file sitemap.xml is built and all the links are present in the file.

If the file sitemap is built, "Resume last session" does not have to give a information ?

I does not understand "estimated URLs left: xxxx".

Also, sometimes I build the file again.

Consequently, if I obtain the date of Ping, I would have the possibility of checking if it were already sent.
I would thus avoid sending several Ping to Google...

Hello,

as long as sitemap.xml is created, you can ignore the "resume generation" checkbox - the last saved state is kept just in case if you want to re-create sitemap files without re-crawling your whole site.

As for pings, google doesn't limit the number of pings per day or per hour, so it is not a problem. However, you can find the history of all your generated sitemaps (and pings) on "Change log" tab.
