PDF Inclusion
« on: July 29, 2006, 03:42:52 AM »
How can I ensure that my PDFs are included in the sitemap? I put "pdf" in the "Do not parse URLs:" section. But it still does not work. I am using version 2.1.1.

Thanks

Hello,

pdf files should be included in sitemap by default. If that is not the case, please let me know your generator nistance URL and example pdf URLs that are not included in sitemap in your case.
to send private message to me: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/forum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=1

Thanks!

here is my problem:
my site pages are here:   /root/domain.com/wwroot/index.aspx

and my pdf files are in:    /root/sitefiles/

is there a way to tell the scanner to hit that folder?

Hello,

sitemap generator doesn't scan folder on the server, it follows the URLs on that page, similar to how search engine bots do. As far as you have links to those pdf on your site, generator should be able to find them.
