Hi, just installed on my 2003 windows server, under [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ], after editing times for the php, everything works great, except for getting this error as well. I have searched the forums and can't find anything that is stopping the ror.xml for from writing, the txt, html, images all work but not the ror.xml file. I tried installing under a second site, [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ] and have the same problem.

Look forward to a great reply!!

Hello,

note that "Save sitemap to" should point to a filename (including the path) on server, NOT the URL.

Hi Again

Save sitemap to: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\zizzlezazzle.com\sitemap.xml

Your Sitemap URL: [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

Feel free to look at it, as I haven't passworded yet in case you needed to take a look

Thanks for the reply

Yes, xml, images work fine, only get the error if I try to a ror.xml...

I have set the premissions correct, even tried 777 on the ror.xml, no matter what I try, it continues to give the error about the permission being incorrect and wont write to the file

Love the program, bummed I can't get that portion to work though

I appreciate your replies

No offense igors.kuvaga, I take it I am on my own? You have an incredible awesome product, I RECOMMEND it to everyone, but as I watch you answer other questions, I suppose mine will be left on the way-side???

Every webmaster needs this awesome tool, even me....but no matter what I do on a 2003 server, that I host locally, cannot get the ror.xml to work for anything....

Sure wish I could, I notice all the other replies to others igors.kuvaga, but no feedback from you in a day or too...

Like I said, Every webmaster needs this awesome tool!!!!

Hello,

Since your site is hosted on windows platform, in order to complete installation you should also set file permissions accordingly (allow write access for IUSR_* usergroup to sitemap.xml, ror.xml files and data/ folder). On windows servers this is done in hosting control panel or via remote desktop access (instead of FTP).

Hi Again,

Thanks for getting back with me again.

Yes, I have the permissions set to read/write/modify for IUSR account. Even tried granting full permissions and it didn't work either. As I stated earlier, works fine on the sitemap.xml, sitemap.html, sitemap.txt, images_sitemap.xml.

I have noticed that it does create a copy of the images_sitemap.xml & the sitemap.xml in the data directory, but does not create a ror.xml in the data directory? Should it also create a ror.xml in the data directory???

Thanks much

UPDATE: I changed the path from the root directory to the generator directory to save the xml files to. I then changed the permissions to the generator directory and granted IUSR write permissions, everything is working now in the generator directory.

Sorry for all the trouble.  I still strongly recommend XML Sitemaps for anyone with a website.....awesome job ya'll
