sitemap.xml - Images & Videos
« on: January 01, 2012, 10:28:39 PM »
Dear Experts,

We do have an entertainment site as we have plenty of images and video files are loaded.

I have seen the exclude option under the url: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/generator-demo/

divx flv zip m4a m4v rar tar bz2 tgz exe gif tif jpg png class jar mpeg mpg mp3 wav mp4 avi wmv gz mov mid ra ram

My question is, how can we generate the sitemap_video.xml or the sitemap_images.xml files if we exclude the above extensions???

Thank you,
MovieIMAX

Dear Support,

We did purchase the special add-ons extensions...

The default exclude extensions are:

divx flv zip m4a m4v rar tar bz2 tgz exe gif tif jpg png class jar mpeg mpg mp3 wav mp4 avi wmv gz mov mid ra ram

My question is, how can the system will scan and generate the sitemap_video.xml or the sitemap_images.xml files if we exclude the above extensions???

Thank you,

Hello,

default exclusions should be left intact, embedded videos/images are detected separately.

Note that only videos from this sources can be detected by sitemap generator bot:
https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/video-sitemap.html
YouTube, Google Video, Vimeo, Dailymotion, MTV

(since they provide API that allow to get video details like play duration/thumbnail etc)

Dear Support,

We do have lots of .flv video files. Should I exclude this extension and the .flv files will be picked-up by the bot for Videos sitemap or I shouldn't be placing .flv extension under exclude option?

Thank you,
