Using Sitemap Generator on a Stand Alone Server running 7.2 php
« on: October 11, 2019, 04:17:59 PM »
I am running the latest version of Sitemap Generator  on a 8 core AMD processor with 16 gig ram.  I am trying to build a sitemap of a wordpress recipe site that has over 13,000 recipes as posts,  with 233 pages of links to the posts.  The one sitemap I was able to build took me 3 days with a total of 12 hours of run time.  In other words every couple of hours I had to restart the creation of the sitemap.  I do have the continue building prior checked,  also continue when page is shut down.  Since I am running on my stand alone server,  I am running with Microsoft Edge,  and never closing the window.
Why does the generator shut itself down every couple of hours?

Hello,

it looks like your server configuration doesn't allow to run the script long enough to create full sitemap. Please try to increase memory_limit and max_execution_time settings in php configuration at your host (php.ini file) or contact hosting support regarding this.

In this case I would recommend to run generator in command line if you have ssh access to your server.
