I am changing host today.  Is there anything I need to know to keep my site running smoothly?

Hello,

in most cases sitemap generator should be still running fine, in case if you have issues try to set permissions again as described in installation instructions (for sitemap.xml, ror.xml, config.inc.php files and data/ folder).
