Error writing sitemap files.

Takes forever and then eventually gives error it can't write the files.
An error occured
Error writing to these files:
/home4/scottsx9/public_html/sitemap.html
/home4/scottsx9/public_html/sitemap2.html
/home4/scottsx9/public_html/sitemap3.html
/home4/scottsx9/public_html/sitemap4.html
/home4/scottsx9/public_html/sitemap5.html
Please correct files permissions and resume sitemap creation.

Which is not this:
Save sitemap to:
/homepages/37/d967611503/htdocs/sitemap.xml

Please enter complete file name, including the path. Make sure that the file is existing and has write permissions allowed.
Hint: current path to Sitemap generator is: /homepages/37/d967611503/htdocs/generator/

if you have defined the html sitemap filename to point to the website root folder, you would need to manually create empty sitemap.html, sitemap2.html, etc files in domain root and sett 666 permissions for them.
