Large Website Owners please help - crons & updates

Hi,

I have a forum with ~1 million pages and was curious how often I should run the generator.

I plan to setup a cron run, but how would I schedule the cron and updates if it takes multiple days to generate a sitemap?  Sorry I am a little bit confused at how to approach this and appreciate your help in advance.

Hello,

it depends on how often content changes on your site. I believe that a monthly scheduled task will be more than enough in your case.
