I need an help for configure my sitemap generator.

My website is large with 1.000.000 of pages, and my generator sitemap never create sitemap-index.xml
the documentation inform create of sitemap1, sitemap2, sitemap3 with 50.000 pages each, is not ocurred.

The service of installation, configure is option? or provide the manual or information detailed for this configuration.
