a recommended depth level?

Hello,  I'm wondering if there is a recommended depth level that the generator should be set up to crawl?  And how does this affect search engines like google, yahoo, msn??  Any help would be appreciated.

the recommended setting is 0 (unlimited) - in this case ALL pages will be crawled by sitemap generator.
