Multiple references to Sitemap in Robots.txt allowed?
« on: September 06, 2007, 12:00:58 AM »
Hi. What if someone had a blog / forum / and a few other odd pages on their domain, and wanted to create a sitemap for each of their interests? And what if this these directories were under one common domain?

1. Sitemap for blog. http:///www.mysite/blog
2. Sitemap for forum. http://www.mysite/forum
3. Sitemap for other pages. http://www.mysite/odd

Since robots.txt should go @ http://www.mysite/robots.txt, would it be harmful to include references to the 3 different site maps in robots.txt?

Hello,

you can either have a single sitemap for the whole domain or separate sitemaps for every site part, both cases should work fine.
