NO SITEMAP XML GENERATED. PLEASE HELP

I have 2.7 and tried generating maps 3 times..alllll daayyyy...

No sitemap.xml is created.

. When I click on the sitemap.xml url I get this:
XML Parsing Error: no element found

When I cilck on the sitemap.html I get this:
Not Found
The requested URL /generator/data/sitemap.html was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Also, make sure that you have defined 0666 permissions for sitemap.xml file.

Make sure that you uploaded all files from generator package, including php file in pages/ folder.

When running the crawling there are a few warnings, but shown that short, that you cannot read them.

Have installed version 3 on 2 domains. One update was done by just uploading page/* ad index.php and the other was a complete new installation of version 3.

On both domains I get the following error message when trying to crawl:

On a third domain I am still running the old version an there everything is O.K. But on this domain I am crawling the complete domain, on the other 2 I only want to crawl specific subfolders.
So I included these folders, separated by space into the "include ONLY"-field and into the "parse ONLY"-field (since I do not know the difference between those two). I ended the subfolders with /.
I also tried without the "/" at the end of the subfolders. Same results.

What can be my mistake? Can anybody help me?

Check that in your php.ini you have this defined:
session.save_path = /tmp

Yes that's the php-version my domains are working with. Do I have to create a file in the notepad-editor, copy the line in and save as php.ini? Then upload to the root directory of the domain, where I have the xml-generator installed?

Yes, please try that.
It's possible though that main php.ini file on server should be modified, so if above will not work, please ask your host to update configuration ( you can provie the link to that forum post as description)
