Ugraded But Version Didn't Change

I followed the instructions to upgrade from v. 2.5.3 to v.2.7:

Unpack the contents of distribution archive and upload the following files to the target folder on your server:
    * index.php
    * all pages/* files

After the upgrade, I logged in to my generator, but the version reported at the bottom of the page is still 2.5.3.

Did I do something wrong?

make sure that you uploaded all new pages/* files into pages/ folder on your host.

I could have sworn I did upload all the pages/* files, but I re-downloaded the new version and re-uploaded the pages folder, index.php, and changelog.txt and now it shows the correct version.

Very weird.
