I'm locked out

My site when down whilst using the Generator.
The site's up and running again, however can not get back into the Generator, just get:

Error 403 - Forbidden
You tried to access a document for which you don't have privileges.

I had a password on the Generator, but I'm not getting asked for that.
I have tried reloading the Generator but that does not work, is there a log or something be cleared?

I don't know if I've done the right thing.
The Generator folder was set to 700,
I changed it to 755 and now it is working again.

Is 755 OK?

yes - generator/ folder permissions must be set to 0755.
