Different Sitemaps XML ROR?

Ok my question is.  Whats the difference?  And what if i name an sitemap in my htacess file?  Should it be the xml one or the ror one?  or can you name multiple ones there?  or should i not even list a sitemap in my htacess file?
And when i submit a sitemap to [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ] or Live.com  what one do i submit the ror or xml?  sorry for my confusion

xml sitemap should be submitted.

So whats the point of the ROR.xml for?  is there any point of me creating one?  And with yahoo i submit the text sitemap or do i submit the sitemap.xml to them as well?

ROR sitemap is completely optional. Yahoo supports xml sitemap now as well.
