Fatal error: Out of memory

I tried to map a site with 20,000 product links. About half way thru, I get
"Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 54525952) (tried to allocate 8126468 bytes) in /home/software/public_html/store/smapgen/pages/class.utils.inc.php(2) : eval()'d code on line 6"

If you would continuously append to a plain text file, I could edit the results on PC.
Instead, I find no FTP access to the intermediate SAVED results.

I did set '0' for limits on page, depth, time, memory.

On a 1982 vintage PC, I was able to continuously append to a text file for later viewing,
so why not here?
