Make old site map visible while not on index page

If I understand site maps they are generated via the index page, with that being said i don't want the links visible on the index page but I  to register them. Is there any way to do this?

You can submit other (non-index) page as Starting URL and sitemap generator will just start crawling with it.

I always thought the index page was the starter page. are you speaking of a 301 redirect? Or how do I do it?

You can specify the URL of ANY page on your site as Starting URL.
