Sitemap Install Issue

I followed the instructions to install the Standalone Sitemap Generator. When I fixed the settings for the sitemap.xml to '666'. It appeared to be fine. However, when I tried to change the ror.xml and other settings I get an error. I've attached a screenshot.




Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?

I just realized that it's not working for the sitemap.xml file either. Any thoughts?

Hello,

the first thing to try is to open sitemap generator in browser and try to generate sitemap. In some cases server is configured so that write operation is allowed by default.

Otherwise please check your hosting control panel - possibly there is an option to change file/fodlers permissions.

I tried going to the sitemap generator directly and was unable to do so.

Is there any way possible to do this via FTP and on my Windows Vista computer?

What was the error you got?
You should open it via http, NOT ftp:
[ External links are visible to logged in users only ] URL should be opened in browser.

This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

Please try to open it like /generator/index.php

It didn't work with the /generator/index.php either. It says, "The page cannot be found"

It looks like your host doesn't support PHP language though (which is required). Could you please check that with your hosting support?
