Where new sitemap is saved

My sitemap generator works fine and it creates a sitemap but on the main admin area it says that the sitemap is being saved on the root. However it isn't being saved on the root but it is getting saved within the generator area. I can copy it to the root as a work around from the generator area but is there a setting I need to adjust to get it to automatically save to the root? Or is this possibly an issue IIS settings?

please copy the sitemap.xml file to domain root and setup permissions accordingly (allow write access to it), then next time generator should update it.
