site completely crashing after generating sitemap!!!!

Hi.
I was generating the sitemap of my website :

it was taking a lot of time so i decided to clic on the icon configuration,i click on it but nothing happens.
So i decided to force the exit changing the url and going to google.
To test what happens i came back to my website and the browser doesn't load my website,why???
It is possible that the interrupt of the sitemap generating can cause the crash of my website?
I'm really in trouble and i don't know what to do

no, it doesn't crash the site, but it's possible that your browser doesn't open a new connection to your site while you still have an open connection to it. You can simply open your site using another browser (like IE + Firefox) or close browser and reopen it.
