Will Google not index URLs that I delete from sitemaps.xml?

I've generated my sitemaps.xml. If I manually delete some rows/URLs from the sitemaps.xml file, even though the files for those URLs still exist and are accessible on the Web, will Google still index them?

Google can find your pages without sitemap, with their own crawler bot, so they can still index those pages.
