XML-Sitemaps Support

Hello all!

A new release of Strandalone XML, Text and HTML Sitemap Generator is available from July 4, 2006.
You can use your regular download link to get the update.

What's new in version 2.2?
   * the <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"> tag is supported now
   * xml sitemap size (max number of URLs per file) can be specified in config file
   * location of text sitemap can be specified in config file
   * non-standard ports are supported like [ External links are visible to logged in users only ]:8080
   * minor bug fixes and improvements

Is it just me that don't see some of the "new" features in 2.2? In particular:

  • I don't see where to configure the "xml sitemap size (max number of URLs per file)", only "Maximum pages" like it used to be;
  • I cannot find where the "location of text sitemap can be specified in config file" only the locations of the XML and HTML sitemaps.
Everything in the 2.2 configuration looks the same as v2.1.1 to me.

Am I missing something here?

Hello,

make sure that you config.inc.php file from the latest package of sitemap generator.
1.  the setting that limits a number of URL per xml sitemap:
Quote'xs_sm_size' => 50000,

2. the setting to define location of text sitemap:
Quote'xs_sm_text_filename' => '',
   'xs_sm_text_url' => '',

Software does not act correctly still.
It never ends...

i have noticed the changes are in the config file but you have to manually enter them for things like the text file name and location and server port

why not have them editable in the script page itself like the other settings

i do not see any option to do that but it would be a better idea

Hello Michael,

these settings are rarely used and we decided not to move them to configuration screen to avoid overloading it with extra options (it is already too heavy for the most users and might be confusing :) ).

Michael3

i think at least the txt file location would be a good idea as i have seen many poeple mention that its strange having location for html and for xml but not txt

but i agree about the other options not very widely used
