Generator Stalls and/or Stops During Scan

Around 3,500 pages, generator stops functioning.  If I close browser and go back to generator, at times I can get it to restart. 
Would I have better luck if I set up a Cron job?

Please advise.

Hello,

you will probably need to increase max_execution_time (and memory_limit) settings in php configurations. And yes, setting up a cron task is very likely to resolve the problem since it's usually is running with less resrtrictive php settings.
