Hi All,

I have looked and can't find on this forum the answers to the following questions.

I just cant get my head ::) around multiple sitemaps submission. Can anybody answer this brainteaser?

I have one domain (www.mydomain.co.uk) and 25 subdomains (www.mydomain.co.uk/1), (www.mydomain.co.uk/2), (www.mydomain.co.uk/3) and so on..

1.How do i submit Sitemaps for multiple hosts from a single host without being penalised by Google?

2. Which location do i submit the (sitemap.xml) for (www.mydomain.co.uk)?
3. Which location do i submit the (sitemap.xml) for (www.mydomain.co.uk/1)?

4. Do i need to submit a robots.txt file for every host?

5. Do i need a robots.txt file for every host with the sitemap address and uploaded to each host?,

I hope ive explained these questions clearly.

Thanks

Tony

XML-Sitemaps Support

Hello,

if you have multiple websites in those locations ([ External links are visible to logged in users only ] , [ External links are visible to logged in users only ] , etc), you should create a separate sitemap for every website and submit them as:
[ External links are visible to logged in users only ]
[ External links are visible to logged in users only ]
etc.

robots.txt is optional and you do not submit it to search engines. Just submit sitemap.xml.
