Crawling stops and return my Homepage, does not complete (Unlimited Sitemap)

I apologize if I have missed the answer to this problem, but the crawler stops before completing and then displays the homepage of my web site, along with a message saying "please wait,  Sitemap generation in progress".  This message has been displayed for over 8 hours.

I've changed the php.ini
max_execution_time = 9000  
max_input_time = 60
memory_limit = 180M  

This is the registered Unlimited version of the software.  I would appreciate any suggestions.
