Can't index more than about 10K pages

Hi,

I have a large site but the the generation stops after a while. I have tried to see how many pages it could do and 10K pages went well but not 20K.
I get this error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 50331648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3233711 bytes) in /home/web29236

I have tried to increase the memory_limit and max_execution_time in php.ini in my website root but it didn't help.

Can I change the settings in some way so it will work?
