WWW or not

Hi,
I read that lots of people are having similar problem but still couldn't fix my own.
I entered my site with www in the sitemap generator and when I check the generated sitemap it has www in it - example below in brackets

(<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<urlset
      xmlns="[external links are visible to admins only]"
      xmlns:xsi="[external links are visible to admins only]"
      xsi:schemaLocation="[external links are visible to admins only]
            [external links are visible to admins only]">
<!-- created with Free Online Sitemap Generator www.xml-sitemaps.com -->

<url>
  <loc>[external links are visible to admins only]</loc>
  <lastmod>2009-08-01T22:31:36+00:00</lastmod>
</url>
<url>
  <loc>[external links are visible to admins only]</loc>
  <lastmod>2009-07-27T20:16:10+00:00</lastmod>
</url>
<url>
  <loc>[external links are visible to admins only]</loc>
  <lastmod>2009-07-27T20:16:10+00:00</lastmod>
</url>
<url>)

This is what I get from Google
We've detected that you submitted your Sitemap using a URL path that includes the www prefix (for instance, [external links are visible to admins only]). However, the URLs listed inside your Sitemap don't use the www prefix (for instance, [external links are visible to admins only]).

So howcome it says that the URLs listed inside my Sitemap don't use the WWW if it actually does say WWW (example above in brackets}

Am I crazy?

I appreciate any help, I wish I was a bit cleverer!

Hello,

in case if you create sitemap with starting URL [ External links are visible to logged in users only ], then you must create site entry in webmaster account with the same URL, i.e. [ External links are visible to logged in users only ].
and vice versa - in case if sitemap is created fo rnon-www domain, then site entry in google should be no-www too.
