XML-Sitemaps is creating broken links?

BACKGROUND
My site contains a link to http: /www.anothersite.com/

PROBLEM
XML-Sitemaps created the same link as...
http: [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

QUESTION
How do we fix this?

NO
I edited the bad files in notepad, and then uploaded them.

The sites I'm working on now are all identical, so I just ran Sitemaps one time, and now I'm uploading d-name edited files to each site without running Sitemaps.
All the links are being accepted in google sitemaps.
