deleting logs in data folder

Is it safe to delete logs in the data folder if I don't make for them? It is piling up.

Thank you. What I should've really said was, Can I edit the conf file to not save the logs everything I run the crawl? If so, how? Thanks again.

We don't have an option to completely disable logs, but there is a setting to automatically remove older records: "Purge log records older than X days"
