Hello,

I use the Google function : Ping Google when generation is done.

It is possible to obtain the date of the last request (last Ping)  ?

Thank you for your answer.

Hello,

the generator script performs google ping right after sitemap is created. So, the last time of ping is the same time when sitemap has been generated.

Thank you for your answer.

But, I have a problem.

"Resume last session" always gives me a information.

For example :
Continue the interrupted session (2006-09-01 12:34:48, URLs added: 396, estimated URLs left: 2041)

However, the file sitemap.xml is built and all the links are present in the file.

If the file sitemap is built, "Resume last session" does not have to give a information ?

I does not understand "estimated URLs left: xxxx".

Also, sometimes I build the file again.

Consequently, if I obtain the date of Ping, I would have the possibility of checking if it were already sent.
I would thus avoid sending several Ping to Google...

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello,

as long as sitemap.xml is created, you can ignore the "resume generation" checkbox - the last saved state is kept just in case if you want to re-create sitemap files without re-crawling your whole site.

As for pings, google doesn't limit the number of pings per day or per hour, so it is not a problem. However, you can find the history of all your generated sitemaps (and pings) on "Change log" tab.
