sitemap.xml not created/updated

Things seem to happily be running ;

However, despite saying that is *has* added pages to the sitemap, it has not done so.

sitemap.xml is either missing, or if I create a blank file beforehand, empty.

Where is the 'error' log to give me some info regarding why it thinks it has added pages to the sitemap, when in fact, it has not?

It is a windows server and sitemap.xml has appropriate rights to allow creation and update.

*afterthought - when it says "Pages added to sitemap:" does it really mean that, or is it memory held until completion?

Hello,

it means that sitemap generator has "collected" this number of URLs to be added in sitemap so far. Sitemap file itself is only created when the process is finished.
