Data Folder 777 not responding

Hello
i changed permissions to data folder as instructed to 777
the page crashed during initial scan but when i try to resume i get"
An error occured
Sitemap file is not writable: /home2/makeove2/public_html/generator/data/sitemap.html
Sitemap file is not writable: /home2/makeove2/public_html/generator/data/sitemap2.html
what am i doing wrong?

I looked in the data folder via FTP and i dont even see any files sitemap.html  or sitemap2.html
am i supposed to create these? or are they auto generate?

please advise..

Hello,

no, those files will be created by generator as long as data/ folder is writable. Is the /home2/.../ path correct?

silly me..
i renamed the generator folder to "generatorx" when i uploaded ..
thats why it was getting errors..

I dont see any of the video files being read however..
I have about 5 videos stored on our site..using ContusHD player..
- do i need to specify the video directory path?
-I used Xmap Joomla for previous sitemaps..is it better to erase all records of that sitemap ( including goog webmaster +robots.txt links ) and replace them with the new ones generated?
-also...Is it ok to have multiple sitemaps references ( vid,image,site etc) in the robots.txt file?

Note that only videos from this sources can be detected by sitemap generator bot:

YouTube, Google Video, Vimeo, Dailymotion, MTV

(since they provide API that allow to get video details like play duration/thumbnail etc)

Yes, it's ok to reference multiple sitemaps in robots.txt, but make sure to submit them in google webmaster account as well.
