using Hosting Control Panel

Hi, I am not able to access the hosting control panel for my site.  We actually use a shopping cart company to run our site.  I followed all the directions of the FTP, the last step won't allow me to set access to the folder.

I'm not exactly sure how to even use the hosting control panel, or even know where to find it.

Can you tell me where the hosting control panel is? Or where to look?

I really thought i was buying access to a similar set up as the website.  Where I would get a file and just upload it.  This seems a little complicated of a process for someone just trying to upload a site map.  If I can't get this to work, I would like a refund.

please try to access generator without setting permissions - ine some cases default access setup allows generator to write files, so it could work without that step.
