Error opening socket problem

I have setup the sitemap generator as instructed but have just clicked crawl and get the error message:

There was an error while retrieving the URL specified: [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]
Error opening socket to: [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

But the HTTP headers follow: and HTTP output: don't show anything.

Can someone help as this is urgent!
