ampersands (&) are converted to &

When I download the created .xml sitemap looking at the links i see that the ampersands (&) are converted to &

for example:
the snippet in the original Browser-URL: /calculator.php?id=AU&id2=
whereas the sitemap.xml lists the url like: /calculator.php?id=AU&id2=

that's correct, this is done according with xml sitemap protocol: [ External links are visible to logged in users only ]
