Standalone Sitemap Generator- not able to generate sitemap

I am having problems generating a site map since I updated the script . I am getting these error messages:
Sitemap file is not writable: /home/eslcer5/public_html/sitemap.xml

Error writing to these files:
/home/eslcer5/public_html/sitemap.xml
/home/eslcer5/public_html/sitemap.xml
Please correct files permissions and resume sitemap creation.

I have change the premission to correct settings and I am still getting the same error messages.
Please help

make sure that you have manually created empty sitemap.xml  file and set 666 permissions to it.
