Cron Daemon
« on: November 19, 2006, 04:09:58 PM »
Hi,

I am getting errors similar to other posts. My permissions for data folder are correct -777, however I am not allowed to change permissions for docs inside data folder. Are these cron errors a problem or should I ignore?

This is partial list of cron errors

Hello,

please try to remove all files from data/ folder.

Just empty the data folder and leave it empty? Also, I am not sure how to set permissions to 0777 or 0666. I  have only 9 boxes and can't get those combos.

Yes, remove all files from data/ folder and leave it empty.

0666 permissions means:
All/Group/Owner
read: Yes/Yes/Yes
write: Yes/Yes/Yes
execute: No/No/No

0777 permissions means:
All/Group/Owner
read: Yes/Yes/Yes
write: Yes/Yes/Yes
execute: Yes/Yes/Yes

How is that different than 666 and 777?  In another post you wrote 0666 is not 666, etc.

It is only different if you apply permissions in shell command line.
