- how does it generally work?

- will this display which specific files have received changes, right on the xml file?

- will it determine this by  dynamically displayed content as well as html ?

Hello,

you can open "Changelog" tab on generator page and it will display the URLs of pages that were added or removed comparing to previously generated sitemap.

Correct.

There is no such a feature in sitemap generator.
