Create multiple sitemap files manually

Hi,
I saw in the documentation that the tool supports big files and it says that XML sitemap generator will create these files.

But in a post in your forum I conclude that you have to manually have to create the sitemap files: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/forum/index.php/topic,5479.msg18177.htm

Do you need to manually create those "empty sitemap files" or not?

generator script usualy will not have permissions to create those files on its own, that's why it's required to create empty files first and set 0666 permissions for them, allowing write access.
